BOX just launched it’s first personal iPhone app that serves your inner-urbanite. If you have an iPhone, you should be familiar with the Maps app that came with it and it’s lame location bookmarking feature. Apple really dropped-the-ball on this so we took that as a sign to pick up where they left off.

Introducing Pinned, now available in the App Store for iPhone 3G and 3GS. View Pinned in iTunes here or search your iPhone’s App Store for “Pinned”. You can also visit iPinned.com for the app’s home page. You can download from all these places for $1.99.

With Pinned, you can save a respectable collection of location bookmark pins, view them all on your map at once, categorize them, and personalize your surroundings like never before. Save pins of your favorite restaurants, bars, clubs, friend’s homes, speakeasies, museums, fishing spots, and anything worth bookmarking. When out-and-about, launch Pinned and view your pins, how close they are to your current GPS location, and how to get there. From now on, you will always have an answer to “What’s around here?”.
